BENTON, Mo. -- A Georgia woman arrested Friday at a motel in Miner, Mo., for credit card fraud also has been charged in Georgia with murdering the card's owner.

Malaika M. Hunt, 18, of Norcross, Ga., is wanted on a felony warrant from Gwinnett County, Ga., charging her with murdering Vernon Alderman, a resident of Norcross.

She also has been charged in Georgia with aggravated assault, motor vehicle theft and credit card theft.

Scott County authorities have charged her with fraudulent use of a credit device.

Scott County Sheriff Bill Ferrell said Georgia authorities alerted police in Southeast Missouri Friday that the victim's credit card was being used in the area. They tracked her to the motel in Miner where she allegedly used Alderman's credit card.

She was arrested without incident by officers with the sheriff's office, the Miner Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
