Steve and Patsy Birk of Gordonville and Dr. John and Sheila Sauer of Jackson announce the engagement of their daughter, Logan Rena Birk, to Garret Michael Light. He is the son of Mike and Linda Light of Biehle, Mo.

Logan is a 2009 graduate of Jackson High School. She received an associate of science degree in dental hygiene from Missouri Southern State University in 2013, and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in health hygiene from the university. She is a registered dental hygienist for Dr. John Sauer in Cape Girardeau.

Garret is a 2010 graduate of Oak Ridge High School, and is attending Southeast Missouri State University. He is employed by Mike Light Cement Finishing at Biehle.

A June 7 wedding is planned at New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson.
