Larry and Pat Connaway of McLeansboro, Ill., announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Suzanne Connaway, to Donald "D.J." York, both of Cape Girardeau. He is the son of Donald and Stephanie York of Rolla, Mo.

Connaway is a 1997 graduate of McLeansboro High School, and received a bachelor of science degree in mass communications from Southeast Missouri State University in 2001. She is an admissions counselor at Southeast.

York is a 1997 graduate of Rolla High School, and expects to receive a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Southeast in May. He is employed with Area Wide United Way.

A May 18 wedding is planned at Hanover Lutheran Church.
