Holloway - Raney

Ronald and Paula Throop of Kelso, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Holloway, to Craig Raney, both of Jackson. He is the son of Robert and Rebecca Raney of Mt. Vernon, Ill.

Holloway is a 2002 graduate of Scott City High School. She received a bachelor's degree in secondary English education from Southeast Missouri State University in 2005, and a master's in secondary education from Southeast in 2008. She is a ninth grade communication arts teacher, mass media adviser, and cheerleading coach with Jackson School District.

Raney is a 1999 graduate of Mt. Vernon Township High School. He received a bachelor's degree in business management from Southeast in 2003. He is a human resource leader with Newell Rubbermaid.

An Oct. 1 wedding is planned at Blue Sky Winery in Makanda, Ill.
