Irizarry - Irey

Mark and Sabrina Rightnowar of Jackson and Edwin and Shari Irizarry of Ketchikan, Alaska, announce the engagement of their daughter, Savanna Layne Irizarry, to Michael Charles Irey. He is the son of Roger Irey and Kimberly Turnbough of Scott City.

Irizarry is a 2005 graduate of Eagle Ridge Christian School. She completed a tour of duty in Iraq as an operating room specialist. She is employed at Cape Family Practice, and is a sergeant in the Army Reserve. She expects to complete combat medic school in December, and plans to pursue a degree in occupational therapy.

Irey is a 2006 graduate of Scott City High School. He completed a tour of duty in Iraq as a multimedia specialist. He is a sergeant in the Army Reserve. He expects to graduate in December from the U.S. Army LPN program at Fort Gordon, Ga., and then pursue a bachelor of science in nursing.

A Jan. 8 wedding is planned at Christ Church of the Heartland in Cape Girardeau.
