Sandra Toon of Hoffman, Ill., and David Toon of Boston, Mass., announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Ashley Toon, to Donald Lawrence May III. He is the son of Donald and Mary Jo May of Centralia, Ill.

Toon is a 2005 graduate of Carlyle High School, and 2009 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. She is a personal banker at US Bank in Ladue, Mo.

May is a 2005 graduate of Centralia High School, and 2008 graduate of Southeast University. He is a police officer with St. Louis County Police.

An Oct. 30 wedding is planned.
