Mark and Jennifer Westrich of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Allyn Westrich, to Jeremy Glenn Harris, both of Dallas, Texas. He is the son of Teresa Harris of Garland, Texas.

Westrich is a 2005 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. She expects to receive a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the University of Texas-Dallas in May 2013. She plans to pursue a master's degree in social work at the University of Texas-Arlington. She is a nanny.

Harris is a 2005 graduate of Caddo Mills High School. He is a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps based in Fort Worth, Texas, and is a junior test engineer with L-3 Communications Mission Integrated Division. He plans to attend UT-Dallas next spring, majoring in electrical engineering.

An Oct. 13 wedding is planned at The Water's Edge in Gordonville.
