Neumeyer to give photo lecture

Local photographer Tom Neumeyer will lecture on his "Cape Girardeau: Then and Now" exhibit at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 10 in the John and Betty Glenn Convocation Center at the Southeast Missouri State University River Campus. "Then and Now" is a historical retrospective of Cape Girardeau through historic and current photographs. Admission is free.

St. Louis ski area now open

WILDWOOD, Mo. -- The Hidden Valley Ski Area near St. Louis is now open for the season, its 25th. It opened at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Hidden Valley makes snow using a network of towers and machines that create and distribute snow. For more information on Hidden Valley, call 636-938-5373.

'Talent' winner coming to Paducah

PADUCAH, Ky. -- Terry Fator, winner of the NBC contest series "America's Got Talent," a ventriloquist, impersonator, singer and comedian, will perform at the Carson Center in Paducah, Ky., at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 2. Fator's live act blends his talents, with Fator singing and impersonating music stars, sometimes without moving his lips. Tickets are on sale now. Kathy Griffin hits Fox Theatre

Vince Gill to play benefit

PADUCAH, Ky. -- Country star Vince Gill will play to benefit the organization Terra's Angels Charities 7 p.m. Jan. 5 at the Carson Center in Paducah. Terra's Angels is a charity that works to help families with children who have life-threatening cancer. Tickets range from $30 to $150 for special VIP tickets.
