Auditions held for 'To Kill a Mockingbird'

SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Sikeston Little Theatre will hold auditions for "To Kill a Mockingbird" Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday. The theater needs actors of all ages and has three large roles for children ages 9 to 14. Auditions will be at 4:30 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Albritton-Mayer Cultural Center, 506 S. Kingshighway in Sikeston. The play will run Nov. 11 to 14. Entries accepted for Bootheel art show

SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Sikeston Depot Museum will host the 26th annual Bootheel Regional Judged Art Show. Artists 18 and older living within 75 miles of Sikeston may submit up to three original works. The fee is $10 per piece or $25 for three. Art, including frame, can be no larger than 48 inches. Deliver framed, wired pieces between 1 and 4 p.m. Saturday or Sunday. Art will be judged Monday and displayed in September and October at the Sikeston Depot Museum.
