The play, written in 1966, centers around a blind housewife named Susy Hendrix, who must defend herself against a criminal searching for drugs that were, unbeknownst to her, planted in her apartment. The nail-bitingly suspenseful story, harrowing until the final shocking climax, was made into a film starring Audrey Hepburn, who received an Academy Award nomination for her role.
