The Mighty Rivers Regional Worship Center in Cairo, Ill., will hold its fifth annual Project Kitty Country benefit concert at 2:30 p.m. today. Project Kitty Country is a trap-neuter-return program that aims to get the feral cat population in downtown Cairo under control. The concert will feature Sallie Brown Goodin, Terry A. Parker, Lydia Eddy Holton and Betty Cooper Hearnes.
The Boys and Girls Club of Cape Girardeau will host a chili supper dinner to benefit its after-school program from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the American Legion hall in Cape Girardeau. The cost for the all-you-can-eat chili dinner is $5.
In the spirit of Halloween, the Cape River Heritage Museum is hosting a two-pronged event, "Hocus Pocus" Family Film and Haunting Tour of Cellar Jail from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Participants will be able to watch "Hocus Pocus." The Halloween-themed movie stars Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker as witches who are resurrected 300 years after the Salem witch trials. A group of teens must thwart the witches' plans for immortality. The museum will also allow visitors to view the old jail in the cellar. Admission is $2 per person. Popcorn will be provided.
The Cape Girardeau Roller Girls will have its inaugural intraleague scrimmage, "Capetown Smack Down," at 6 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Arena Building in Cape Girardeau. The inaugural intraleague scrimmage will be between the Broadway Brawlers and the Mississippi Mavens. Halftime and after-party entertainment will be provided by The Haddonfields. Doors open at 6 p.m., derby starts at 7 p.m., and the after party will be at 9. Cost is $6 per person. For more information, call 636-675-1915.
Disney Live Mickey's Rockin' Road Show is coming to the Show Me Center. The show will feature Disney characters Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy setting out on a road trip with the audience joining in to help find the coolest acts around. Ticket holders will get to sing, dance and play along at the Playhouse Disney Pre-Show Party free of charge 15 minutes before the performance. Mickey's Rockin' Road Show begins at 7 p.m. Nov. 5.
