Southeast soccer camp offered at Shawnee Park

Members from the Southeast Missouri State University's soccer staff will host camps for boys and girls ages 6 to 13 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. July 28 to 30 at Shawnee Park field No. 12. Lunch Bag Bunch meets Thursday at Cape library

The Cape Girardeau Public Library in Cape Girardeau will be holding a free "Lunch Bag Bunch" event from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday. The library is asking all attendees to bring in a sack lunch, while it provides the drinks. The hourlong event includes games and activities. For more information, call 334-5279.

Clubs organize annual Glowball Golf Tournament

The Cape Youth Tackle Football and the Cape Noon Optimists will host the annual Glowball Golf Tournament starting at 5 p.m. Friday at the Jaycee Municipal Golf Course. Teams of four play nine holes before dinner and nine holes after dinner at dark. Check-in will be from 4:30 to 5 p.m. with the first nine holes immediately following. Dinner will be served and prizes will be available. The tournament is limited to the first 36 teams that enter. All monies raised will benefit Cape Youth Tackle Football equipment needs. Movie in the Park held again in Jackson

The Jackson City Park will host a movie screening starting at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 6 by shelter No. 1 in Jackson City Park. The movie will start at dusk and be free to the public. Attendees should bring chairs and blankets. Concessions will be available. The movie has yet to be announced. For more information, call the Jackson Parks and Recreation Department at 204-8848.

Children's art contest entry runs through Friday

The Sikeston Depot Museum will hold the annual Cowboy Up! Kids' Art Contest for two age categories: 7 and younger and 8 to 12 years old. Art will be displayed July 31 to Aug. 14 and winners will be announced at the Cowboy Up! Arts Festival, Aug. 13 and 14. Grand prize includes family tickets to the rodeo. The art will be used for rodeo T-shirts. Artwork should be no larger than 11 by 14 inches and have a rodeo theme. Include the artist's name and age on the back. Entries must be submitted to the Depot Museum, 116 W. Malone Ave., before Friday, July 23. Depot hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 573-481-9967 for more information.
