Veterans group to celebrate service members

The Southeast Missouri Veterans and the Iraq Victory Party Association invites the community to come together to celebrate the local men and women of the armed forces from 7 to 11 p.m. Tuesday at The Plaza by Rays. Tickets can be reserved or purchased at www.iraqvictoryparty.org. Tickets for active military, veterans plus a significant other is free, and for nonmilitary and citizen it's $10 per person. "America's Got Talent" winner Neal E. Boyd will be the master of ceremonies and will put on a performance. Attire will be suits, dresses and uniforms. HealthPoint Fitness to host indoor triathlon

The third annual Shamrock 360 Indoor Triathlon will be held Saturday at Southeast HealthPoint Fitness in Cape Girardeau. The competition will consist of 10 minutes of swimming, 30 minutes of cycling on stationary bikes and 20 minutes of running on treadmills. The first wave of four participants will start at 8 a.m., with a new wave scheduled to start every 15 minutes. Awards will be presented after the last group of competitors finishes the triathlon. Drinks, sandwiches and snacks will be provided throughout the day. The cost is $40 per person. Payment is required at time of registration. Space is limited, so sign up early. Kenny Rogers Children's Center hosting lunches

The Kenny Rogers Children's Center will be hosting a barbecue pork loin and rib lunch at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Sikeston, Mo., Field House. Loins are $20, and ribs are $15.

The center will be hosting a Telethon Fish Fry from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 25 at the Sikeston Field House. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for children 5 years and younger. Tickets for both events are available by calling 573-472-0397, extension 207.

St. Joseph Church is hosting breakfast

St. Joseph Church men's club is hosting a breakfast and bake sale from 7:30 to 11 a.m. March 25 at St. Joseph Church Hall on Route F 10 miles south of Perryville, Mo., in Apple Creek, Mo. Tickets are $7 for adults, $3 for children 5 to 12 and free for children 4 and younger.
