Magnolia Manor holding spring luncheon

Writers workshop scheduled for June 8

Heartland Writers Guild and the Cape Girardeau River Heritage Museum are sponsoring the workshop, "Getting Published: Tips for Writing and Marketing your Work" from 9 a.m. to noon June 8 at the River Heritage Museum, 538 Independence St. Rob Simbeck of Nashville, Tenn., will be the speaker. He has written, edited and ghostwritten 18 books and has been featured in "The Washington Post," "Guideposts," "Rolling Stone," "Country Weekly," "Field and Stream" and more. The cost is $20. Stamp Out Hunger food drive to be held

The annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive is scheduled for Saturday. Residents are asked to place non-perishable food items in a bag by their mailbox for letter carriers to collect. Donations will go to area food banks for individuals in need. The food drive is sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers.
