Every Wednesday, rain or shine, the Missouri Running Co. hosts a free social run followed by food and beverage specials at Cup 'n Cork, 11 S. Spanish St., in Cape Girardeau. Sign-up starts at 6 p.m. and the run begins at 6:30 p.m. Call (573) 651-5282 for more information.
A blood drive will be held from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, at Crossroads Church in Jackson, 4400 E. Jackson Blvd. The drive is in honor of Wyatt Hill, a 4-year-old who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in April 2013. Hill has since been through chemotherapy and is in the "maintenance phase," undergoing treatment at St. Louis Children's Hospital. Presenting donors will receive a T-shirt while supplies last and there will be a drawing for a Visa gift card and other prizes.
The 2016 Health and Wellness Expo will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at the Osage Centre, 1625 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau. Admission is free, and the expo will offer wellness booths, free wellness screenings, health seminars, child care, cooking demos, group fitness demonstrations, raffle prizes and more.
