Cape student attends 4-H event

Nathan Aufdenberg of Cape Girardeau recently attended the 2016 National 4-H Congress in Atlanta. Aufdenberg was one of 20 4-H members from Missouri selected to attend the five-day event, which included educational workshops, tours, speakers and activities and projects that benefited the Atlanta community and beyond.

Local students earn scholarships

Several local students were awarded scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University.

Zachary Flath of Jackson was awarded the Residence Life Leadership Award. Flath is the son of Randy and Michelle Flath of Jackson and will be a 2017 graduate of Jackson High School.

Cheyenne Hendershott of Marble Hill, Missouri, was awarded the Regents' Scholarship. Hendershott is the daughter of Arron and Cheryl Hendershott of Marble Hill and will be a 2017 graduate of Jackson High School.

Sarah Klump of Cape Girardeau was awarded the Community College Scholarship. Klump is the daughter of Dennis and Sharon Klump of Cape Girardeau. She is a 2015 graduate of Perryville High School and will be a 2017 graduate of Mineral Area College.
