Lutheran Heritage Center and Museum: "Celebration in Red and White," the red and white quilt collection of nationally recognized quilter and author Ann M. Hazelwood, will be on display throughout the month of April. From May through September, the museum will feature "175 years of Religious Freedom and Education in Perry County, Mo." The exhibit chronicles the immigration of 700 Lutherans from Saxony, Germany, to East Perry County in 1838 and 1839. In Altenburg.

Bollinger County Museum of Natural History: A new exhibit, "Forestry: The Lifeblood of our Region," will open May 3. Also opening in May is "Gastropods: Nature's Slimy Sliders." In Marble Hill, Mo.

Perry County Military History Museum: The museum, which opened in November 2012, has a permanent collection that includes papers, uniforms, medals, photographs and other artifacts pertaining to Perry County, veterans. From June 17 to June 22, the museum will host "The Wall that Heals," a touring wall that is a half-size replica of the Washington, D.C., Vietnam Veterans Memorial; it has been touring the country for almost 30 years. Discovery Playhouse: New to the playhouse is, well, a playhouse! The child-size house includes a kitchen complete with stainless steel appliances, a complete bathroom, a pair of recliners and housekeeping supplies, including a vacuum cleaner -- and more. In Cape Girardeau.

River Campus Art Gallery at Southeast Missouri State University: The works of graduating seniors will be on display through May 16. It is the work of student artists graduating with a bachelor's degree in fine arts with a specialization in ceramics, digital art, graphic design/illustration, painting, printmaking or sculpture. Bootheel Youth Museum: The museum welcomes a new exhibit June 1 to foster awareness and understanding of nanoscale science, engineering and technology. The interactive exhibit will have several modules in order to appeal to children of various ages as well as adults. In Malden, Mo.
