A morning worship at the morning service Sunday will feature Bill and Carol Bartolomucci of Whitesboro, Texas, at Father's Arms Fellowship, 1400 Main St. in Scott City. Breakfast to be served today at Christ Episcopal Church

A monthly free hot breakfast will be served from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. today. This community meal is offered, no strings attached, by the people of Christ Episcopal Church at the parish hall, 101 N. Fountain St., half a block south from the Marquette building. All are welcome.

Final Blue Sky Church celebration to be held Sunday

Blue Sky Church will hold its third and final outdoor worship celebration at 5 p.m. Sunday in Capaha Park at the band shell. This Sunday's theme is "The Fruits of the Earth." The Downtown Council of Churches (seven congregations) is offering this time of songs and celebration in God's original "cathedral." All are welcome. The worship will be led by Pastor Dan Johnson of Evangelical United Church of Christ. The story "Stone Soup" will be told by the Rev. Dr. Bruce Gentry of the Baptist Campus Ministry. The music will be brought by Dr. Steve Hendricks and members of the choirs of Christ Episcopal Church and St. Mark Lutheran Church. A large kettle of "stone soup" will be boiling over the fire when people arrive. Worshippers may add washed, chopped vegetables to the soup. Meat will not be added. This evening people may want to bring a picnic and enjoy some fellowship afterwards. The grill at shelter No. 4 will be fired up. An offering will be received for Heifer International, a Christian charity that provides livestock and training to raise it in marginal, third world countries.

Guest speaker to be at Jackson church

Special services at 10:35 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. are planned for Sunday at Calvary United Pentecostal Church, 581 Broadridge Drive in Jackson. Evangelist Vernon Rosenbalm of Greenville, Ohio, will be the special speaker.
