Shortly after the last Harry Potter film hit movie theaters, I decided to reread "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."

After the movie swept me back into the wizarding world, I had to have more. I couldn't wait until "Deathly Hallows" came to the silver screen. I needed to relive the adventures of my Hogwarts friends immediately.

Now that the first installment of the "Deathly Hallows" finale has opened, I find myself sinking into a maudlin awareness of the end.

My excitement resembles that of a student on the cusp of graduation: electrified to be at the end but sad to see it almost over. I enjoy the camaraderie Harry Potter provides in social circles, the light chatter the series can inspire.

The Harry Potter books and movies have created a collective culture almost all of us can talk about at the drop of a witch's hat. We all know Hermione's issues and Ron's insecurities. We all want to help Harry. We all have an opinion on the movies and what was left out.

Well, almost all of us.

Our story on the front of SE Live was expertly put together by the section's talented designer Heather Collier. Heather is responsible for making the section look good week in and week out and has recently been dubbed the Southeast Missourian's official Harry Potter pundit.

Our hope is that you get a refresher of Harry, Ron and Hermione's journey from timid first year wizards to renegade horcrux hunters. Or if you haven't read the series or seen the other movies (really, reader, what part of the Forbidden Forest have you been stuck in?) that you get caught up enough to enjoy getting caught up in these last two movies.

Her chart will take you from Muggle to Magic master in no time.
