Samuel K. Riehn will graduate from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., with a bachelors in science in military strategic studies and will earn a commissioning rank of second lieutenant. He is the son of Kenn and Pamela Riehn of Jackson.
Cape Girardeau Central High School students Josh Greaser, Joshua Sander, Alex Mehner and Aaron Mehner qualified for a national competition with Future Business Leaders of America [FBLA] in Anaheim, Calif. Emily Diamond and Russell Sprengel also competed.
The following students will participate in Boys State from June 15 through 22 at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo.:
Ian Roberts, Kody Kingree, Josh Friess, Brandon Lueders, Sam Lowes, Jacob Breese, Wyatt Mansell, Kunal Sutaria, Josh Ayres and Jacob Monteith.
The participants will have the opportunity to learn about democracy by spending time with local and state officials and setting up their own state.
Brandi Walls of Cape Girardeau was named an All-American Scholoar by the U.S. Achievement Academy. Walls earned a minimum 3.3 grade-point average at Cape Girardeau Central Middle School. She is the daughter of Heidi McIntosh and Brandon Walls.
Madeline Arnzen of Cape Girardeau was selected to attend the American Ballet Theatre summer intensive program in Tuscaloosa, Ala. She is the daughter of Scott and Colleen Arnzen. She is a student at Notre Dame Regional High School and the Academy of Dance Arts in Cape Girardeau.
