Brad Main, son of Jim and Marge Main of Cape Girardeau, was inducted into Westminster College Alpha Tau Circle of Omicron Delta kappa, a national leadership honor society. Main is a senior at the college.

Area freshman attends youth conservatory

Katoshia Grubb, a freshman at Marquand High School, attended the Senior Youth Conservatory in Memphis, Tenn., for instructional classes in acting, voice and dance. She is the daughter of Sueann Slinkard and the late Donnie Grubb Jr.

Wille receives dean's scholarship for fall 2007

Ian Wille of Jackson has been awarded a Dean's Scholarship to attend Southern Illinois University-Carbondale for the 2007 fall semester. He is the son of Kristine Wille.

Extra Credit

  • Dr. Robert Hamblin, professor of English and director of the Center for Faulkner Studies at Southeast Missouri State University, will receive the PRIDE Award during commencement exercises at 2 p.m. Dec. 16 at the Show Me Center. The award recognizes a faculty member who has demonstrated excellence as a teacher, an extraordinary level of scholarship and service and whose overall accomplishments are noteworthy. In addition, Hamblin will serve as the grand marshal at commencement. He will address honors students at a convocation at 10:30 a.m.
