Lavern Wachter of Jackson announces the engagement of her daughter, Beth Wachter, to Nick Menneke. He is the son of Mike and Ruth Ann Menneke of Mexico, Mo. Wachter is also the daughter of the late Eugene Wachter.

Wachter received a bachelor of science degree in health science. She is employed at Concordia Seminary in Clayton, Mo.

Menneke received a degree in elementary and physical education from Lindenwood University. He is a teacher and coach with Francis Howell School District.

A July 21 wedding is planned at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in O'Fallon, Mo.
