WHAT'S HOT FOR FALL

Classic glamour returns for fall, and new makeup offerings provide the tools to create a dramatic but elegant look. Warm autumn colors are in the mix as always, such as plum, taupe and gold. But more fanciful choices abound, including iridescent lip glosses, coppery lash tints and pale blue nail polish. Some of the new colors and products from cosmetics manufacturers include:

Yves Saint Laurent's take on the season's signature red with lipstick and nail polish in "red desire."

Clinique's Glosswear for Lips Cream Shines, which offer tinted, velvety lip glosses in angel pink, bare nude, rich raisin, silk rose and berry flirt.

Cover Girl's lip kit, which is the size of a compact but contains two glosses and three lip colors, in red, dark berry and plum.

Laura Mercier's "La Dolce Vita" fall collection with the warm, rich colors of southern Italy, such as terra cotta for lips and warm almond and light mocha for eyes.

Colorful offerings from Estee Lauder, such as a gold and emerald eye shadow duo and a mauve eyeliner, along with a line of iridescent, rainbow glosses called Pure Color Crystal Gloss with Liquid Prisms.

Bobbi Brown's "nude on nude" eye palette, with five colors that range from natural-looking daytime shades of light beige and pale taupe to a deep, rich brown that can be used as a liner or contour shadow.

Chanel's pale, cool nail polish colors crystal blue and bikini rose.

Smashbox's fall trio of eye shadows in pearl, rose and taupe shades, paired with an eyeliner duo of black and deep mauve.

Benefit's Bingo lipstick, a classic dark burgundy with a sexy, sheer texture. Benefit's Bad Gal mascara features an oversize wand that makes application quicker.

Maybelline's new roll-on applicator for sparkly eye shadows in pale plum and pearl.

Sue Devitt Studio's lash tints in dark copper and metallic chocolate brown.
