Calvary Temple, 1725 East Highway 72 in Fredericktown, Mo., will hold its 12th annual God and Country Day at 10:45 a.m. July 1 to honor service personnel and their families. Rivermen Quartet mark anniversary with concert

The Rivermen Quartet from Jackson is celebrating five years in gospel music with a concert at 6:30 p.m. July 7 at the Malden Community Center. Featured artists will be the Talley Trio from Morristown, Tenn., and the Lesters from St. Louis. The Rev. Luther Rhodes of First General Baptist Church in Jackson will be the master of ceremonies. The Rivermen started in March 2002 at the First Baptist Church in Jackson. In five years they have produced six CDs and have performed in more than 325 concerts in the tristate area. The Rivermen have promoted gospel concerts in Southeast Missouri and have appeared at the Promise Keepers of the Heartland rally and MAGMA Convention. The group will once again be part of the Southern Gospel Picnic in Branson at Silver Dollar City Sept. 8 and 9. Members of the group are Charlie Brown of Jackson, Bruce Marrs of Fruitland, Stephen Daume of Oak Ridge and Doug Thornton of Malden, Mo. Tickets are available from Overturf Health Mart in Malden, Bernie and Dexter and Christian bookstores in Jackson, Poplar Bluff, Sikeston and Kennett.

Westside's annual gospel meeting starts Sunday

Westside Church of Christ, Highway 72 at Tilsit Road in Jackson, will have its annual gospel meeting from Sunday through Wednesday. Bible class is at 10 a.m., Lord's supper at 11 a.m., preaching at 11:20 a.m. and evening service at 7:30 p.m. Paul Farmer of Slocomb, Ala., will be the speaker.

Gospel singing scheduled at Shiloh Baptist June 30

The Gloryroad Travelers of Mounds, Ill., and Bill Carter and Friends of Jonesboro, Ill., will be in concert at 7 p.m. June 30 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Villa Ridge, Ill. No concerts are scheduled in July.

Kingsmen to perform in concert Wednesday

The Kingsmen of Asheville, N.C., will be in concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the First General Baptist Church of Jackson, 1506 S. Farmington Road across from Coca-Cola Bottling Co. There is no admission charge, but a freewill offering will be accepted.

Bible study started at Red Star Baptist Church

Red Star Baptist Church is having Bible study at 2 p.m. every Monday in the education building. Enter from the back door of the activities building. Everyone is welcome.

Sons of the Father, a nationally known trio, will be in concert 1:30 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church in Benton, Mo. Worship services are at 8:10 and 10:30 a.m., Sunday school at 9:30 a.m., and lunch is at noon.
