Leonard and Suzanne Katz of Gautier, Miss., announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Michelle Katz, to Ronald Edward Ruppel II. He is the son of Ronald and Judy Ruppel of Oak Ridge.

Katz expects to receive a degree in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University this fall. She is employed at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

An outdoor wedding is planned Oct. 13 at the Elks Lake in Cape Girardeau.
