Arts Council of Southeast Missouri

The Arts Council, 32 N. Main St., will forgo its usual First Friday reception for its Children's Arts Festival this month. The festival takes place Sunday, with a free concert at Academic Hall Auditorium at 3 p.m. and an artists and authors reception at the arts council at 4 p.m. Students from 12 schools in three counties participated. Broadway Books and Roasting

Broadway Books and Roasting, 605 Broadway, will host a presentation of the international new media art show "Freewaves." The show, presented via Wi-Fi connection, features film, video and new media art from around the world, shown on projection screens. Main St., will feature a First Friday reception on the building's second floor, from 7 to 10 p.m. The show, "Memories from a Pataphysical Journey," will feature 15 to 20 mixed media pieces by Jackson native Drew Burk, a graduate student studying media and communications in Switzerland. WESTRAY featuring the Cat Ranch Art Guild

The WESTRAY gallery, 1930 Broadway, will feature the work of Cat Ranch Art Guild member Wilma Stratton, who specializes in stained art glass.
