Robert and Kay Watkins of Scott City announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristen Annette Watkins, to Darren Henry Meyer of Columbia, Mo. He is the son of Gerald and Rose Meyer of Maryville, Mo.

Watkins is a 2002 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. She received a bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri in 2006. She is public affairs manager at Dow Chemical Co.

Meyer is a 2003 graduate of Jefferson High School, and expects to receive a bachelor's degree from the university in December.

A Jan. 26 wedding is planned at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, Mo.
