Mr. and Mrs. James Wellendorf of Lancaster, Pa., announce the engagement of their daughter, Susan Marie Wellendorf of Odenton, Md., to Jeffrey Jaco Plucker of Atlanta, Ga. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Plucker IV of Mooresville, Ala., formerly of Jackson.

Wellendorf is a 1995 graduate of Hempfield High School in Lancaster. She is a 1999 graduate of Elon University, and is completing a master's degree in educational counseling at Johns Hopkins University. She teaches fourth grade at Crofton Elementary School in Crofton, Md.

Plucker is a 1995 graduate of Randolph School in Huntsville, Ala., and received a bachelor's degree in mass communication from Auburn University in 2000. He is market director of The Mobile Solution in Atlanta.

An Aug. 23 wedding is planned at the Stone Mill Inn in Hellam, Pa.
