CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Pat Whistler of Chaffee announces the engagement of her daughter, Michelle Rae Whistler, to Matthew Wayne Holder. He is the son of the late Ardell "Popeye" and Pat Holder of Scott City. Whistler is also the daughter of the late Bill Whistler.

Whistler received a bachelor of science degree in health management from Southeast Missouri State University, and expects to receive a degree in education from Southeast in May. She is a preschool teacher at Kids Academy in Chaffee.

Holder received a bachelor of science degree in health management from Southeast. He is a certified athletic trainer with Mid-America Rehab in Cape Girardeau.

A May 29 wedding is planned at St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
