VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- The Gloryroad Travelers of Mounds, Ill., and Potters Clay Remodeled of Ringo Ky., will be in concert at 7 p.m. today at Shiloh Baptist Church in Villa Ridge.

Vacation Bible school held at New McKendree church

New McKendree Methodist Church in Jackson will have vacation Bible school from June 22 through June 26 at the church on High Street. Events will begin at 5 p.m. with a light meal and will continue to 8:15 p.m. Registration forms may be picked up at the church by calling the church office at 243-8487 for information. Brittany Hastings, VBS director, said all registrations must be in no later than June 15. The theme this year is "The Wizard of Oz."

Texas group performs 'Godspell' at Centenary

The Youth Singers of Spring Valley United Methodist Church in Dallas will present the musical "Godspell" at 7 p.m. June 20 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. In the role of Jesus, Chase LaFrano will lead a cast of 40 on stage, including Chris McEnaney as John the Baptist, Blake Hartgraves as Judas and Madeline Steiner as Mary Magdalene. Tent revival to start Wednesday in Marble Hill

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Cottage of Grace General Baptist Church, 406 Union St. in Marble Hill, will sponsor a tent revival Wednesday through June 15. It will be 2.2 miles north of Marble Hill on Highway 51 at the church's new grounds. Guest speakers will be the Rev. Luther Rhodes and the Rev. Kevin Mann. Services will start at 7 p.m. each evening. Special music will be provided by local performers and the Jackson General Baptist Church choir.

Methodist church to host Teen Challenge fundraiser

Wesley United Methodist Church in Fruitland will host a summer music festival June 14 to raise money for Mid-America Teen Challenge. Several artists will take the stage in a carnival-style arena. Among the local musicians will be Jeremy Verhines with Solomon's Porch, of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson, Tyler Montgomery of Dexter, Mo., and Doug Rees of Jackson. Also performing will be the Teen Challenge choir, New Creations. Choir members will also give testimony between performances. The festival begins at 2 p.m. and will last until about 8. In addition to the music festival, there will be carnival games, a space walk for children, washers, food and family entertainment. Tickets are on sale and are available though the church, Teen Challenge or by clicking on the PayPal button on the church Web site, www.wesleyumcfruitland.com.

Abbey Road church offers computer classes

Abbey Road Christian Church's computer lab is now accepting applications for the fall 2008 session beginning Aug. 17. Many classes will be offered on topics such as beginning keyboarding, how to send e-mail and how to use MS Word. For more information or to request an enrollment form, call 335-3422.
