Powers - Martin

David E. and Sherry Powers of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley S. Powers, to Bradley S. Martin. He is the son of Donald and Marilyn Martin of Tamms, Ill., and Barbara Franklin of Wickliffe, Ky.

Powers is a 2001 graduate of Jackson High School. She received an associate degree of applied science from Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center in 2007. She is a registered respiratory therapist at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Martin is a 1992 graduate of Camelot High School. He received an emergency medical technician licensure from Shawnee Community College in 1993, and firefighter II certification from the University of Illinois Fire Service Institute in 1998. He is a firefighter/EMT with Cape Girardeau Fire Department.

An Oct. 18 wedding is planned at First Baptist Church.
