Sharon Williams, art teacher at Alma Schrader School in Cape Girardeau, has been recognized by Artsonia, an online children's art museum, for her leadership in arts education. The school's online art gallery, www.artsonia.com/schools/schrader1, ranks No. 5 in Missouri and No. 45 in the nation by Artsonia. Williams was presented a leadership award for encouraging family and community involvement in arts education. The award also recognizes significant achievement in the area of technology integration within the school arts program. During the 2007-2008 school year, Alma Schrader School gallery showcased 3,193 pieces of artwork, was visited more than 54,382 times and received 1,646 comments. Keepsakes with children's' artwork can be purchased online. Artsonia donates 15 percent of its annual product revenue back to school art programs.
