Woelk - Zaal

Mr. and Mrs. Michael Woelk of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Christian J. Woelk of Washington, D.C., to Capt. John Andrew Zaal of Taunton, Somerset, United Kingdom. He is the son of Judy Zaal of Newark, Del., and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Zaal of Charlotte, N.C.

Woelk attended the College of the Ozarks. She is a self-employed consultant.

Zaal attended Appalachian State University. He is a captain in the U.S. Marine Corps, currently detailed to the Royal Marine Commando in the United Kingdom.

A Jan. 3 wedding is planned in Cape Girardeau.
