Cyrus and Evelyn Franks of Foristell, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Erin Nicole Franks, to Robert Thomas Giles. He is the son of Thomas and Mary Giles of Cape Girardeau.

Franks received a bachelor of history degree and master of education degree from Truman State University. She is a fourth grade teacher at Rebecca Boone Elementary School in Warrenton, Mo.

Giles received a bachelor of music education degree from Southeast Missouri State University and a master of music education degree from Boston University. He is director of bands with Warren County School District.

A June 10, 2009, wedding is planned in Negril, Jamaica.
