The guardsmen attended a picnic put on by the veteran's home for residents and their families, which will likely become an annual event. Over 500 people were in attendance.

Throughout the afternoon, veterans were able to share stories of their service with the guardsmen. The guardsmen also helped with set up tents for the event.
