David and Gail Kunz of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Clarkson Kunz, to Joseph Edward Hesselbach. He is the son of Ronald and Mary Howard of Little Rock, Ark., and Michael Hesselbach of Chicago.

Kunz is a 1997 graduate of Central High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in accounting and a master of accountancy from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2001. She expects to graduate from Washington University School of Law in May 2006.

Hesselbach is a 1997 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas-Mercy High School in Florissant, Mo. He received a bachelor of science degree in accounting and a master of science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2002. He is a CPA and senior tax accountant at Deloitte in St. Louis.

An Aug. 13 wedding is planned at Graham Chapel at Washington University.
