Venable is a 2005 graduate of Jackson High School. He received a bachelor of arts degree from Wichita State University in 2008, with a major in English-creative writing. He is attending the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.

An Aug. 7 wedding is planned on a family farm near Jackson.
