John and Debra Jones of Jackson announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Jones, to John Robert Baur, both of Bourbonnais, Ill. He is the son of Robert and Connie Baur of Wentzville, Mo.

Jones is a 2001 graduate of Jackson High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in interior design from Southeast Missouri State University in 2009. She is a design apprentice with La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery in Merrillville, Ind., and is assistant manager at Famous Footwear in Bourbonnais.

Baur received a bachelor of science degree in applied computer science from Southeast in 2003. He is a computer programmer at Kankakee Community College.

A Sept. 18 wedding is planned at the Water's Edge in Gordonville.
