Steve and Jane Wernsman of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Jane Wernsman, to Colin Andrew Anderson, both of Collinsville, Ill. He is the son of Randy and Ronda Anderson of Granite City, Ill.

Wernsman is a 2002 graduate of Central High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from St. Louis University in 2006. She is employed in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis.

Anderson is a 1999 graduate of Granite City High School. He received a bachelor's degree in music business from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in 2003. He is an audio engineer in the music industry in the St. Louis area.

An Oct. 16 wedding is planned in St. Louis.
