LEOPOLD, Mo. -- Robert and Annabel Engelen of Leopold announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristina Susanne Engelen, to Chad Michael VanGennip, both of Marble Hill, Mo. He is the son of Michael and Dorothy VanGennip of Marble Hill.

Engelen is a 2004 graduate of Leopold High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in animal science from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2008. She is employed at Tilsit Road Animal Clinic in Jackson.

VanGennip is a 2001 graduate of Leopold High School. He is employed at Coca-Cola Enterprises in Jackson.

An Oct. 9 wedding is planned at St. John's Catholic Church in Leopold.
