Yoga class offered at Osage Centre

The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will offer a yoga class for participants beginning from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Osage Community Centre. The class will be in the aerobics room. Prices are $3.50 per day or $36 for a 12-session punch card. Men and women of all ages are welcome to attend. Everyone is encouraged to bring their own mat and strap, which can be as simple as an old necktie or belt, to the class. Monthly fitness calendars are available at www.cityofcapegirardeau.org. Toddler Time at Cape Girardeau library

The Cape Girardeau Public Library will have Toddler Time at 7 p.m. Monday. There will be stories, music, rhymes, finger plays and activities for toddlers to help build early literacy skills. The event is open for children 18 to 35 months old accompanied by a caregiver. For more information, call 334-5279.

Mission dinner served at Arena Building

The Jamaican Christian Medical Mission dinner will be from 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Arena Building in Cape Girardeau. The Jamaican Christian Medical Mission is an ecumenical missions supported by individuals and churches from a range of denominations that operates a biannual clinic in Jamaica and provides all medical services free of charge. It serves about 1,000 people the week of Easter and includes medicines, pharmacy, dentistry, optometry, nursing, audiology and respiratory therapy. Prices for the dinner are $20 for individuals or $120 for a table of eight. The next mission will leave April 24.

Senior citizens dance celebrates Veterans Day

The Cape Girardeau Central High School chapter of National Honor Society will host a senior citizens dance from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday in honor of Veterans Day. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Manitou will provide live music, and a light dinner will be served.

College of Nursing has alumni meeting

The Southeast Missouri Hospital College of Nursing and Health Sciences of Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau will have an alumni meeting at 5 p.m. Thursday at the College of Nursing and Health Sciences building Room 211. Anyone interested in being a member of the alumni group and helping to revitalize it is invited to attend. For more information, contact Jeanne Hill at 334-6825.

Free meals for current, past military members

The Texas Roadhouse restaurant in Cape Girardeau will be providing free food for military veterans and current members from across the area from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday. All veterans or active military who want to receive the free dinner must either show up in uniform or with military identification.
