Brad and Brenda Hiett of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittney Dawn Hiett, to Lance Rhodes. He is the son of James and Debbie Rhodes of Sikeston, Mo.

Hiett is a 2006 graduate of Central High School. She expects to receive a bachelor of science degree in early childhood education from Southeast Missouri State University in May. She plans to pursue a master's degree this fall.

Rhodes is a 2004 graduate of Sikeston High School. He received a bachelor's degree from Southeast University in 2008, and a master's degree in physical education from Emporia State University in 2010. He is a baseball coach at Wabash Valley College in Mount Carmel, Ill.

A June 25 wedding is planned in Cape Girardeau.
