Sonny and Cindy Underwood of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Julie Ann Underwood of Mission, Kan., to Douglas Austin Hoberock of Prairie Village, Kan. He is the son of Greg Hoberock and Barb Hoberock of Washington, Mo.

Underwood is a graduate of Central High School. She received a master of physical therapy degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is employed at the Athletic and Rehabilitation Center in Independence, Mo.

Hoberock is a graduate of Washington High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering from UM-C. He is employed by Kiewit Construction in Lenexa, Kan.

An April 30 wedding is planned at Lynwood Baptist Church.
