Dennis and Lois Shearrer of Poplar Bluff, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Kelly Jeanette Shearrer, to Albert Marion Spradling IV, both of Poplar Bluff. He is the son of Albert M. Spradling III and Pam Spradling of Cape Girardeau.

Shearrer is a 1995 graduate of Bernie High School in Bernie, Mo. She received a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education and specific learning disabilities from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Mount Vernon, Ohio, in 2000. She received a master's degree in educational administration from William Woods University in 2005. She is a Farmers Insurance agent in Poplar Bluff.

Spradling is a 1995 graduate of Central High School. He received an associate degree in turf grass management from Western Texas College in 1999. He received a bachelor of science degree in agri-business from Southeast Missouri State University in 2002. He is superintendent of Ozark Ridge Municipal Golf Course in Poplar Bluff.

The couple plans a Sept. 17 wedding on the golf course.
