On Saturday, the Friends of Cape Girardeau Public Library will sponsor a "friendraising event" from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Cape Splash Family Aquatic Center in Cape Girardeau. Everyone is invited to come and wind down the summer season and celebrate the start of the school year with the library's friend organization. There will be information about the library's services and programs. Discounted tickets must be purchased in advance at the User Services Desk at the library before the day of the event. To qualify for discounted tickets, participants will need to show their library card or take a quick self-guided tour of the library. Discounted prices are $3 for adults and $2 for children 1 to 13 years old. Regular priced tickets will also be available at the gate during the hours of the event.
