The Louis K. Juden Post 63 American Legion baseball coaches were given special recognition at the District 14 quarterly meeting at Post 63 in Cape Girardeau on Aug. 7. Cape Legion Post 63 Junior coach Jacob May led his team to a district AA championship and played host to the AA Zone Tournament. The Senior Legion team was coached by Todd Pennington, assisted by Steve Williams and Bill Bohnert. Cape Seniors hosted the AAA Zone tournament for the second year in a row. John "Doc" Yalally, serves as general manager for the Post 63 programs. Doc has been involved in Legion baseball for 55 years, coaching state tournament senior winners in 1975 and 1994. Commander Woeltje expressed appreciation to the coaches for the time, effort and dedication they give to the development of these young athletes.
