Nominations are being accepted by the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri for the annual Otto. F. Dingeldein Award. The board of directors of the arts council will accept nominations until Sept. 1. The award honors living individuals whose artistic achievements have impacted the cultural enrichment of this community. It can be given to artists, non-artists or organizers. The award was established in 1975 and was first presented to Otto F. Dingeldein for his contribution to the arts and the founding of the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri. SIRIS Classic Vinyl & Media Sale set

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The fourth annual SIRIS Classic Vinyl & Media Sale is coming to the University Mall in Carbondale on Sept. 10 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sept. 11 from noon to 6 p.m. The sale will be in the storefront next to Hot Topic. The Southern Illinois Radio Information Service and WSIU Public Radio, a public media arm of Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, are hosting the sale, with the support of the University Mall. Collectible albums will be featured in a special section and will be priced accordingly; other albums are priced at $1 each. Additional items for sale will be CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, cassettes, electronic games, audio books and stereo equipment, including turntables, tuners and speakers.
