Allen and Connie Mathias of Imperial, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Jaimi Lynne Mathias, to Alex Taylor Ramsey, both of Carbondale, Ill. He is the son of Mack and Pat Ramsey of Burfordville.

Mathias received a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She is pursuing a doctoral degree in clinical child psychology at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. She expects to begin her pre-doctoral internship at Dartmouth College this summer.

Ramsey received a bachelor's degree in psychology at the University of Evansville. He expects to receive a doctoral degree in applied psychology from SIU-C in May.

A May 26 wedding is planned in St. Charles, Mo.
