Dennis Turner of Cape Girardeau and Patricia Turner of Granite City, Ill., announce the engagement of their daughter, Allison Renee Turner, to Lance Jefferson Altenthal. He is the son of Brad and Karen Altenthal of Cape Girardeau.

Turner is a 2005 graduate of Central High School. She plans to attend Penn Foster College this fall. She is a veterinary assistant at Skyview Animal Clinic.

Altenthal is a 2006 graduate of Central High School. He received a bachelor's degree in construction management and design from Southeast Missouri State University in 2010. He is project superintendent with Double Diamond Construction.

A Sept. 22 wedding is planned at Elks Lake.
