Muka - Zarpentine

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Tammie and Clay Harmon of Chaffee and Gary Muka of Harwood Heights, Ill., announce the engagement of their daughter, Samantha Muka, to Dr. Christopher Zarpentine, both of Salt Lake City, Utah. He is the son of Daryl and Ann Zarpentine of Camillus, N.Y.

Muka received a bachelor of arts degree in literature in 2005, and a master of arts degree in history and philosophy of science in 2008, both from Florida State University. She expects to receive a doctorate in history and sociology of science from the University of Pennsylvania in 2014.

Zarpentine received bachelor of arts degrees in philosophy and music from Ithaca College in 2003, and master of arts and Ph.D. from Florida State University in 2011. He is an associate instructor in the philosophy department at the University of Utah.

A July 13 wedding is planned at Byron Colby Barn in Grayslake, Ill.
